Stress Disorder, I tried to find a connection between the stagnation
of the mind and society. Principally I was looking for the connection
between a society in which people are forced to survive using their
primal instinct and one in which people must use their higher learning
skills. Is this an apparent cause for social stagnation of some groups within
a society, or an entire society in some cases?
--I was not convinced of the correlation and decided
to trace the source of the modern Western, Latin, and Middle Eastern minds. What
I found was, while the West was in the middle of a thousand-year period of stagnation,
Asia Minor, “the
Middle East,” was flourishing. Why, then, had they stagnated in the use
of modern technology and overall development? To analyze the cause, I researched
the historical trail starting at the source of Western stagnation to its modern
development. This helped me see how we rose out of the thousand-year period of
stagnation, from the fall of the Roman Empire, to what we are today. From this
historical lesson we should have a better understanding of how we got to this
point of departure that we find ourselves in today with the Middle East. This
work was written highlighting aspects that point to that departure.
